May 15 - A Home Is Prepared for Those Who Love God
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him. - 1 Corinthians 2:9
Look homeward! Upon the crystal sea before the throne of God are gathered the prodigals of the earth, redeemed and clothed in white robes. They have "gotten the victory" through Jesus Christ, and now they sing a new song before their Lord. It is the song of Moses and the Lamb, a song of deliverance.
The soldiers of the cross who have endured suffering, persecution, and even death for the love of their Saviour, will receive their reward. "They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them , nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes." Revelations 7:16, 17
This is the Father's gift to His children. What a day of reunion! What a day of victory! Jesus will see the results of His sacrifice. The multitudes who stand before His Father's throne will give praise and honor to the Lamb who redeemed them with His precious blood.
The mind can but faintly imagine the wonders of the re-created earth that shall be the inheritance of the redeemed. To every child of God, pilgrims and strangers, homeless, the promises of the eternal home grow more precious with each passing day. The love of God will be the theme of the ages, "and sorrow and sighing shall flee away." Isaiah 35:10 - Neff
